10 Things I Love and Hate Doing

Just another random thing I wrote in class since I was really bored.

10 Things I Love
1) Eating whatever I want since I know that I will dance it off later.
2) Hanging out with my friends knowing that there is no time that I need to leave.
3) Choreographing…period.
4) Being on a roll when writing a poem or short story. aka..all the ideas are spilling out.
5) Knowing that I have no specific time that I have to wake up for the next week.
6) Laughing like a freak with my best friends when we have no clue what is so funny.
7) Singing on the top of my lungs with my iPod blasting in my ear so I don’t sound so loud…in my ears :P
8) Flipping through the TV guide and realizing that there is a CSI: Miami 10 hour marathon tonight….and knowing that I have no homework that night :)
9) Drinking, eating, licking, anything green tea.
10) Looking at the clock and realizing that 20 minutes went by and that there is only 10 more minutes of class left (oh look, how ironic)

10 Things I Hate

1) Knowing that I have tons of homework to do
2) Doing tons of little useless homeworks. Like those worksheets from EVERY class.
3) Not being able to watch a show that I have been waiting for because I have to be somewhere
4) Sitting in class and waiting till break even though its only 8:10 (1 hour and 50 minutes left to go)
5) Needing to go to the bathroom in the middle of the good part of a movie.
6) Walking into a conversation and having no clue what is going on.
7) Waking up 10 minutes earlier than my alarm clock and lying there, trying to rest, but knowing that you have to wake up in 10 minutes. So I dread those whole 10 minutes instead of sleeping.
8) Trying not to yell at my brother when he jumps on my bed when all the parts of my project is neatly organized and sorted out.
9) Having to be waken up by my parent or brother wake me up just when I was just about to fall asleep.
10) Sitting in a freezing cold room knowing that you need to be there for another 2 hours (oh look, how ironic)

10 Things I Love and Hate

10 Things I Love
1) Sitting the car with my iPod loud enough that I am not distracted by outside conversations, relaxing, and slowly falling asleep.
2) Meeting up with my close friends after a long vacation and hanging out like there is no time limit.
3) Arriving on the first day of school with new classes, new teachers, and new classmates.
4) Waking up to a sunny but not too bright day with a slight breeze coming through the window without having anyone to wake me up.
5) Coming back after a long and stressful day and just plop onto my couch and sit there for an hour.
6) Choreographing that last count of 8 to a dance and then dancing the entire dance, completed.
7) Buying something for 75% cheaper than a few months ago when you saw it because you knew that the price will lower.
8) The Christmas atmosphere with the cookies, tree, decorations, carols, food, etc.
9) Jumping onto a giant pile of fluffy pillows and just laying there.
10) Being able to have a natural conversation with new people that you meet without any awkward silences.

10 Things I Hate
1) People who take their own sweet time getting out of the car in the morning while backing up the whole line of 25 cars.
2) People who say “Psh…that is easy. I can do that!” after explaining to them how tired and worn out you are from doing that thing.
3) People who make fun of theater and say that it is stupid when there are a lot of details, work, and effort that is needed to be put into it.
4) People who do not plan ahead or think about others and end up causing stress and confusion for other people.
5) People who rub in your face, indirectly, that they did not need to study a single minute to get that 105% on a test, after you told them that you studied for 4.5
hours to get that 73%.
6) People who say “whatever” and “I don’t care” a lot as well as “I don’t know” as an answer…unless they really don’t know. At least elaborate on it.
7) Dirty places with gunk and unknown objects stuck between the ground and walls.
8) People who laugh really loudly in public to get attention or people who think that they are so hot when they are clearly making a fool of themselves.
9) People who complain that Harker food sucks when we have chefs and public schools have heated up one-choice-of-pizza.
10) People who do not take responsibility for their actions, duties, promises, etc.

Color Poem

So this exercise that was in my poetry book is that I have to describe a color by a poem. I have to start each sentence with "the color of..." And the reader had to guess what the color is haha. Mine is pretty obvious.

The color of the fire truck racing through the streets.
The color of the giant “Target” sign that you can spot from the freeway.
The color of the single rose that a guy gives to his new girlfriend.
The color of the pool of corrections on an essay.

The color of the stop sign that saves a child who is running through the streets.
The color of the fire hydrant that the dog claims.
The color that tells us what temperature it is outside.
The color of the blood running through my veins.

The color of the flag that represents out country.
The color of the bright car for the new 17-year old driver.
The color of the burning passion of love.
The color of the sunset that lovers watch together.

Got any clue? hmmm I wonder.... lolol

Dance is a Sport: Sonnet

So an assignment was to turn a poem that we had already written into a sonnet. So this is my sonnet haha

Sonnets have a rhyme scheme of
abab
cdcd
efgefg
in any order of those 3.

And it has to be in some sort of iambic form. So I chose an iamic pantameter. If you dont know that is, ask me later.

Dance is a Sport

Dancers, like boxers, have to be fit.
Ballerinas have to fly across the room.
They have to portray zero gravity.
Every beat, like a drum you have to hit.
Once the music turns on , there is a sudden boom.
For Hip Hop dancers burst with energy.

Guys mock, ridicule, and make fun of it.
"Dance is not a sport, its easy"
I want to see action, not words. So try it.
After your experience, come and tell me.

You sweat like you just took a shower.
Dance teachers push you, can you take the heat?
You fail if you dont give a hundred percent of power.
Dancers actually can be stronger than athletes.

Prayer For My Brother: A Short Story

Victoria is 3 years old, 4 months, 21 days to be exact.
She is wearing her favorite Barbie pjs and watching her favorite show: Barney.
It is the episode of family and siblings.
It is now 8:30pm and the episode comes to an end.
Oh how Victoria wanted a little brother like the kids in the video.
She climbs off the bed and kneels down beside the right side.
"Dear God, I pray for a little brother"
She opens her eyes and within a second, her dad bursts through the doors.
A gush of wind blows Victoria's hair away from her face.
He scrambles around the room putting together some things in a bag.
"What are you doing?" Victoria asks.
"Your mom is going into labor" replied her dad.
"What" asks Victoria.
"Your mom is going to give birth to your little brother." explains the dad.
"A little brother? Yay! Wait. How?"
"You know how mommy's belly is so big? Your brother is in there."
"What? I thought mommy just got really fat"
"No haha. Now listen to me. Now that you are going to be a big sister, you are a big girl now and big girls listen to their parents. And I want you to stay home with grandma."
Victoria agrees.
Her father dashes out of the room.
Victoria cant beleive what she just heard.
She jumps on her bed a few times and runs to the top of the staircase.
She runs towards the highest railing and lies down.
Facing the doorway, which is right accross from the stairs, Victoria is curious in what is happening.
Mom and dad are almost at the bottom of the stairs.
Everything after that happened so fast that they were gone in a blink of an eye.
Her wish came true.

And that is a true story.
