So this story is suppose to be a mondernized fairy tale.
So it has to follow a certain structure called the skeleton.
But I kinda twisted it so it ends in a wierd place..youll see...

The Job or The Love?

Everyday, Edward Wahdle drives to his little cubicle in his white Ford 500. He has been working at Stuckle Enterprises for 7 years, calling investors to ask them if they would like to sponsor the company. He works hard and is very friendly towards his customers. When he gets bored with his job, he helps other with their jobs when he gets bored of his.

One day, he is walking down the fluorescent light-lit hallway to lunch when he overhears the board of directors chatting in the lunch room.

“How are we going to find a replacement developmental director in time for the new promotion? We have already interviewed all the grant managers.”

“We need someone who has been in the business for a long time. Long enough to know how everything around here works.”

“Let’s hold a public meeting tomorrow at 1pm in room 67 for anyone who would like to apply for this position. It is the our last resort.”

Edward cannot believe what he has just heard. His dream. A chance to change his life and do something instead of talking on the phone everyday. A raise. A new car. A bigger cubicle.

He runs towards his car while passing workers with boxes of files and almost hits them, squeezes right through the door that almost closed. But once he steps outside, a cyclist smash into him and they flip over and slam onto the ground.

Edward wakes up to the pretty face of his co-worker Britney.

“Hey…are you ok? I am so sorry about that,” she says.

Edward gets up on his feet while brushing his coat pretending that it was nothing.

“Didn’t feel a thing” he boasted.

“Really? Well you got knocked out for about two minutes there.”

“Oh…”
He looks up and is attracted right to her eyes where he falls in love right into the pool in her eyes.

“My Edward name is hi” he blurted.

“I’m Britney. You’re pretty funny” she laughed.

“Thank you. Um…thanks for um…helping me up and just wanted to say thanks. Uh I am Edward. I work at Stuckle Enterprises too. And just to say, I tend to babble a lot sometimes. Sometimes, I don’t even notice but yeah. I just say a lot of things. I am not as random as you think I’m. I’m not weird I swear. I just…”

“Haha. Well, is there anything I can do for you? The bruise looks pretty bad.”

“Ahh. That thing? It is no big deal. My head is rock hard.”

“You sure? Well, I would love to make it up to you. Would you like to have lunch with me? Maybe tomorrow? It is my last week at Stuckle and tomorrow is my only free day. So, my office at 1pm? Room 68.”

“Okay” he stutters.

“See you tomorrow.”

A date with Britney. Edward has not gone on a date for four years now. Everything has to be perfect.

He skips back home whistling for today has been his best day. A job opportunity and a date.

Edward halts in his tracks. “Wait.” What is he going to do? They are at the same time.

“Oh! I can just reschedule with Britney. Shoot! I didn’t get her number” he thought.

He has to think of something. What is his decision?

He can’t decide. So he decides to sleep on it.

The next day, his mind is still not made up. The town clock strikes 11am. He has no time. So he throws together an outfit and a portfolio and try to decide when he gets there.

The clock strikes 12.

In the garage his car stalls and he decides to run. The office is only 2.5 miles away. He waddles to Stuckle knocking down everything in his path. At the office, he elevator is not working. So he has to climb 12 stories. He finally gets to row of room 60s.

It is 12:57pm

He stands in front of the doors with his tie askew and his portfolio disheveled while gasping for air.

On the left, room 67: his dream. On the right, room 68: his love.

12:58pm.

He must make his choice now. This decision will change his life forever. He has to use a system that will determine this.

Eeny Meeny Miney Mo….I choose you.

He opens the door and walks in.
